Next Steps

What if I get a callback? What if I get a spot?

If you get a callback:
Following your initial audition you may be invited to our Call Back Camp. This camp will be the next opportunity to interact with our creative and educational staff as well as other performers. During this experience you will learn a variety of techniques that will help you prepare for an action packed summer!

If you get a performer contract (a.k.a. a “spot”):
At any point during the audition process you may be offered a Performer Contract. This is your invitation to join Music City! When you receive your contract there are several items to consider.

  • Time. It is a large time commitment during the summer.

  • Finances. There is a cost to drum corps.

  • Health. Are you physically ready to spend 11 weeks on the road?

  • Growth. Are you ready to take a leap forward as a performer and human being?

Take the leap!

Do you have what it takes?

FAQs

What about Covid-19?

The health and safety of our members, staff and volunteers is our number one priority. We are working with our Participant Safety Committee as well as outside medical professionals and Drum Corps International to ensure a safe return to play.

We will continue to update our Covid-19 Guidelines as the summer approaches.

Should I audition even if I’m not sure I can march this summer?

Yes. The best way to find out if you are ready or not is to audition. Show us what you’ve got, get the contract and then make your decision. The first step is to walk through the door!

What can I expect day to day on tour?

The summer experience is broken up in two parts. Pre-tour. This is our version of band camp. Full day rehearsals putting together the summer production, long days and lot’s of great work. Tour. Once we hit the road we either have a travel/ rehearsal day or a show day. This summer we are planning on 19 or more performances over the tour.

How much does it cost to march?

Summer tuition for Music City in 2023 was $4,600.00. There was a deposit of $750.00 due upon accepting your contract. Tuition covers food, lodging, travel, instruction and more during the summer experience.

Can I go home during the summer?

No. Once you move in we try to restrict members coming and going. Of course, family emergencies can be handled on a case by case basis or school requirements. Again, drum corps is a large time commitment.
