Music City Youth in the Arts Named Tennessee Ambassador of Goodwill
As a proud member of the Tennessee arts community, Music City Youth in the Arts, Inc. (MCYA) was recently recognized by Governor Bill Lee as a Tennessee Ambassador of Goodwill.
Throughout the travels of MCYA's premier performing ensemble, Music City Drum Corps, Tennessee can be seen and heard in more than one way. The state flag flies from the cook truck on a daily basis, the Tennessee Waltz is sung by members after every performance and the hospitality of the home state rings true from the entire group at every stop on the tour route. The 2024 tour, covering over 6,000 miles, will take Music City as far west as Abilene, Texas, east to Lexington, South Carolina, north to Rochester, New York and finishing the tour in Indianapolis, Indiana. "We are beyond thrilled to be a Goodwill representative for Tennessee wherever we go, both inside and outside the state" stated Mike Webb, Executive Director, Music City Youth in the Arts, Inc.
About the Tennessee State Flag
The three stars are of pure white, representing the three grand divisions of the state. They are bound together by the endless circle of the blue field, the symbol being three bound together in one—an indissoluble trinity.
About the Tennessee Waltz
