Alex Price
Percussion Staff - Basses
Alex Price is completing his student teaching in the Yukon High School cluster in Yukon, OK. He will graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Oklahoma in December of 2024. During his time at OU, he participated in the Pride of Oklahoma, OU Wind Symphony, OU Symphony Orchestra, and OU Percussion Orchestra while remaining an active member of the OU Percussion Studio and serving as president of the OU Percussion Society for two years.
In 2022, Alex marched bass drum with The Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and in 2023, he joined The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, where they won the Fred Sanford Award for Best Percussion Performance. The following fall, he participated in the Percussive Arts Society International Convention as a performer with The Cavaliers percussion section and in the ‘Bassque’ clinic over bass drum fundamentals.
Alex has taught percussion in the OKC metro area and worked with schools in the DFW area, including Keller Central High School in Ft. Worth, Texas. He has studied under notable instructors such as Matt Stephens, Jacob Arie, Andrew Richardson, Benjamin Holmes, Frank Chapel, Lee Beddis, Valarie Wharton, Mike McIntosh, Josh Brickey, and Russell Wharton.
