Jason Schmidt

Visual Staff

Jason Schmidt is originally from Granger, IN and graduated from Penn HS. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Ball State University. He is currently the Assistant Director & Visual Caption Head at Plainfield HS, IN. He has been a part of the fall staff since 2014, and the indoor percussion staff since 2023 where the program has seen immense growth and change throughout the past 10 years. Jason has also taught and served as the visual designer for several Indiana schools’ fall and winter programs.

Jason was a 3-year member of the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps from 2010-2012 on baritone. He was the I&E trombone runner-up in 2011 and champion in 2012. He worked on the admin team for the Blue Stars in 2013, and performed in the Blue Stars Alumni Corps for their 50th anniversary in 2014. In 2023 Jason was a part of the visual staff at The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps.

Jason currently resides in Indianapolis, IN with his adorable red Labrador, Ruby. Jason is currently an active member of the Indiana Wind Symphony in Carmel, IN.
