Pete Crawford
Audio Engineer
Pete Crawford obtained his BA in Music Composition and Percussion Performance from California State University, Bakersfield. His marching percussion instructors include Alex Herrera and Tony Nunez.
In 2002, Peter marched with Impulse Drum & Bugle Corps and in 2006 he aged out with Valley Independent Percussion as the tenor line section leader. He has written for and taught at many high schools in the southwest area. Pete has worked with Velvet Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, Orange County Independent Open Percussion, and Odyssey Indoor Percussion. He was also a performing member for the first two years of WGI Winds with Orange County Independent Winds Ensemble, where he medaled in the Independent World class both years (Silver then Bronze). He was the lead arranger for Chops Inc. Drum & Bugle Corps for 2014 and 2015 and wrote the music book for the entire corps both years. In 2019, Pete joined the Santa Clara Vanguard as one of the lead sound engineers where they earned the bronze medal. In 2022 he led the Crossmen Audio team and oversaw the design and deployment of their audio system. In 2021, Pete came back to Bakersfield College Drumline and Golden Empire Drum & Bugle Corps as a Front Ensemble Coordinator and the Audio Manager for both groups – having worked with them off and on for over a decade, Pete was honored to help lead the new generation of Bakersfield performers and coaches.
In the professional entertainment world Pete has had the privilege of working with such artists as Tom Segura, Tiffany Haddish, Joe Rogan, Bert Kreischer, ADEMA, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Alien Ant Farm, POD, Hawthorne Heights, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Tinashe, Chris Botti, T-Pain, and even helping put together Todd Sucherman's drum set. Having mixed arena shows, theater and dance events, festivals and coffee house gigs, Pete has overseen a wide variety of audio deployments and setups. After moving to Houston in 2023, Pete is now with Cy-Fair High School (PSW) as an audio and front ensemble consultant, and a sales rep for Synced Up Audio. He has been a percussion adjudicator on the west coast with WBA, CSBC, and many other localized indoor circuits across the central valley, even helping train judges in their audio knowledge.
