Tyler Stump
Guard Staff
Tyler J. Stump (He/Him) is excited to rejoin the Colorguard staff for the 2025 season! Currently a second-year doctoral student at The Ohio State University in Engineering Education, Tyler’s research delves into uncovering inequalities of power and privilege in higher education through quantitative statistical methods. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering from Michigan State University, along with a Professional Certification in Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment from the NIH.
In the marching arts community, Tyler has performed with The Spartan Marching Band (2017-2022), State of Art Winterguard (2019-2022), Carolina Crown (2021), Phoenix Independent Open (2023), and Juxtaposition Winterguard (2025). He has also contributed to the educational staffs of Westland High School Marching Band and Central Crossing High Schools’ Marching Band and Winterguard programs. Originally from Ida, Michigan, Tyler now resides in Columbus, OH. In his free time, he enjoys lifting, hanging out with friends, and reading.
