Music City Welcomes Ryan Springler as Visual Caption Head
Music City Drum Corps is excited to welcome Ryan Springler as Visual Caption Head for the 2027 season. Ryan brings extensive experience as a visual designer, adjudicator, and instructor, with a career spanning drum corps, marching band, and the indoor performing arts.
Born in rural New Mexico and now based in Baltimore, Ryan has worked with programs across the country. His work has earned visual and effect caption awards, state and regional championships, and numerous finalist, semifinalist, and medalist finishes at the national level.
“We’re excited to have Ryan joining Music City,” said Corps Director Chaz Bledsoe. “We have a lot to build on heading into 2027, and Ryan brings experience and perspective that will help us keep moving forward. I’m looking forward to seeing him work with our team and challenge our members.”
Ryan previously served as visual caption head and/or coordinator at The Academy, Pacific Crest, and Oregon Crusaders, and as a consultant for Guardians. His experience across these organizations brings a valuable perspective to Music City’s visual program as the corps prepares for its next season.
His clients have included Lawrence Central, Homestead, Loveland, Mission Hills, Clovis, and Trumbull high schools, along with Blue Knights Indoor, OCI Winds, and Lux Winterguard. Ryan is also a founding board member of the AzMBA marching band circuit, where he served as Judges’ Coordinator for several years.
At Music City, Ryan will work closely with the design team and educational staff to bring the visual program to life, helping members develop the technique, and performance skills needed to carry design ideas onto the field. His arrival is an exciting step as Music City builds on the accomplishments of 2026 and looks ahead to 2027.
Outside of pageantry, Ryan is an active painter, a racquetball player, and an avid consumer of all things spicy.
Please join us in welcoming Ryan to the Music City community!
