After a remarkable ten years of service, Music City Youth in the Arts, Inc. and Music City Drum Corps are bidding a heartfelt thank you to Cindy Sawyer for her unwavering commitment and countless contributions to the organization as she steps back from her previous responsibilities. Cindy has played a pivotal role in shaping the community and ensuring its continued success through her multifaceted involvement as a member parent, fan, volunteer, board member, and the foundation behind the organization’s thriving merchandise store.
Cindy’s journey with Music City began as a dedicated parent and fan, cheering from the sidelines and supporting her child’s passion for the arts. It wasn’t long before her enthusiasm extended into volunteering, where she became a member of the team, contributing her time and talents to every aspect of the organization.
One of Cindy’s most significant achievements has been her leadership in building the Music City merchandise store, both online and on summer tour. Whether coordinating logistics, designing merchandise, or running the store at events, Cindy’s dedication has left an indelible mark.
Beyond her work with the merchandise store, Cindy served as a committed board member, lending her voice and experience to guide the organization’s growth and mission. Her passion for music education and the marching arts has inspired countless members and volunteers, fostering a welcoming and vibrant community.
As Cindy steps away from her official roles, her impact will continue to resonate throughout the Music City community. Her dedication over the past decade has not only elevated the organization but also enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her.
“Cindy’s impact on Music City Youth in the Arts and Music City Drum Corps is immeasurable,” said Mark Garey, MCYA Board Vice President. “Her passion, generosity, and vision have been a guiding light, and we are deeply grateful for everything she has done.
