Alex Bolender

Movement Specialist

Alex Bolender is a native of San Diego, California where he currently resides with his life partner and their three cats. His previous marching experience includes Gold, The Academy, The Cavaliers, and The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as winter seasons with Vox Artium Winter Guard and Imbue Winter Guard. 

Alex’s teaching experience spans across 10 years in the the Southern California area and nationwide, working as a tech, choreographer, and designer at all levels of the activity. He has also worked with several drum corps in a variety of design and leadership roles. At the forefront of Alex’s educational approach is accessibility and inclusivity. He strives every day to create environments that allow his performers to master their craft and achieve excellence while also growing as people, on and off the field.

Currently, Alex works with several programs including Poway High School, University City High School, Eastlake High School, San Marcos High School, Emerald Independent and Oasis Ensembles. When he’s not teaching pageantry, Alex enjoys a good hike or beach day. 

Alex is very excited to be embarking on this new journey of moving and grooving with the Music City Color Guard!
