Kate Sellers

Visual Staff

Kate Sellers is currently a full-time graduate student at Towson University in Towson, MD, studying for a masters in music education and a performance certificate in instrumental conducting. She is a graduate assistant with the World Famous Towson University Marching Band and the Towson University Band and Orchestra programs, and a design consultant and production manager for the Towson University Winter Guard. Prior to her time at Towson, Kate was the band and orchestra director at La Plata High School in La Plata, MD, where she taught all aspects of the instrumental music program, including an award-winning competitive marching program. She is originally from the Philadelphia area, and earned her undergraduate degree in music education from Penn State.

Kate spent the past summer as a Bluecoats Fellow, studying artistic direction and drill writing with Jon Vanderkolff. She takes pride in working with numerous band programs across Maryland, as a technician, drill writer, and choreographer. In addition to her work in music education and the marching arts, Kate loves reading, playing video games, and spending time with her partner, John, and two cats, Brioche and Yennerfer. Kate is very excited to be a part of the visual staff at Music City and is looking forward to a great season.
