Roland Hernandez
Front Ensemble Staff
Roland Hernandez is a percussionist and educator from Houston, TX. He graduated with a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from the University of Houston in May 2022 where he had the honor of studying under Dr. Blake Wilkins, Mr. Alec Warren, and Mr. Craig Hauschildt. After graduating, he moved to Florida and is currently studying at Florida State University, earning his Masters of Arts in Arts Administration.
During his undergrad, Roland pursued his front ensemble marching career with the Guardians (17), Colts (18), and the Bluecoats from 2019-2021, helping them earn a silver medal in 2019. He was also active in the WGI season, marching Monarch Independent from 2019-2022, serving as Ensemble Captain in his last year.
Roland is grateful to learn from many outstanding educators during his marching career including Jake Lyons, Andy Filipiak, Dr. Ryan Kilgore, Brad Palmer, Allen Justus, and many more. Roland is currently a front ensemble technician at Infinity 2 Percussion and is looking forward to his time with Music City DBC.
